Exercise 15 Instructions
- Open Adobe Illistrator.
- Select web, then stay with the default selection.
- Adjust width and height of artboard to 1200px.
- Hit create.
- Hit 'm' on the keyboard and draw a long rectangle about 36px in width and 577px in height.
- Make sure the rectangle's fill is black and has no stroke.
- Then hit 'v' on the keyboard to change to the select tool.
- Useing the select tool roughly center your rectangle in the middle of the artboard
- Then create another rectangle, but with a width of 20px, and height of 268px.
- Then move your curser closer and closer to the corner of the rectangle untill it turns into a curved arrow representing rotation.
- Once the curser icon has changed click and then hold shift, and rotate the rectangel exactly 45 degrees.
- Then hit 'v' for selection tool and move the shape so that the new rectangle is sticking out of the old rectangle at roughly the half way point.
- Select the new ractangle and hit 'Ctrl' and 'c' then hit 'Ctrl' and 'v'.
- Move and rotate the new third rectangle so that it exactly mirrors the second rectangle.
- Now select both the second and third rectangle by selecting one, then holding shift and selecting the other.
- Hit 'Ctrl' and 'c' then hit 'Ctrl' and 'v'.
- Move the copied shape to the bottom of the first rectangle, make sure that the rectangle and the new shape are still touching.
- Go to the sidebar and by hovering over every tool, find the rectangle tool.
- Then click and hold the rectangle tool, untill you get a drop down.
- In the drop down select the eclipse tool.
- Hold shift and click to make a circle.
- Once youve made your circle adjust the size to 288px by 288px.
- Then put the circle at the top of your first rectangle.
- Repeat the above steps to create another circle.
- Change the fill of this new circle to white, and change its size to 55px by 55px.
- Then use selection tool to place white circle in the first circle, the placement should be slightly off center to the left.
- Hit 'Ctrl' and 'c' then hit 'Ctrl' and 'v' while the white circle is selected.
- Move the copied white circle so that it is a mirror of the original white circle.
- Click file > export > export as.
- Give the file a meaningfull name, and export it as a png or jpg.
