Exercise 15 Instructions

  1. Open Adobe Illistrator.
  2. Select web, then stay with the default selection.
  3. Adjust width and height of artboard to 1200px.
  4. Hit create.
  5. Hit 'm' on the keyboard and draw a long rectangle about 36px in width and 577px in height.
  6. Make sure the rectangle's fill is black and has no stroke.
  7. Then hit 'v' on the keyboard to change to the select tool.
  8. Useing the select tool roughly center your rectangle in the middle of the artboard
  9. Then create another rectangle, but with a width of 20px, and height of 268px.
  10. Then move your curser closer and closer to the corner of the rectangle untill it turns into a curved arrow representing rotation.
  11. Once the curser icon has changed click and then hold shift, and rotate the rectangel exactly 45 degrees.
  12. Then hit 'v' for selection tool and move the shape so that the new rectangle is sticking out of the old rectangle at roughly the half way point.
  13. Select the new ractangle and hit 'Ctrl' and 'c' then hit 'Ctrl' and 'v'.
  14. Move and rotate the new third rectangle so that it exactly mirrors the second rectangle.
  15. Now select both the second and third rectangle by selecting one, then holding shift and selecting the other.
  16. Hit 'Ctrl' and 'c' then hit 'Ctrl' and 'v'.
  17. Move the copied shape to the bottom of the first rectangle, make sure that the rectangle and the new shape are still touching.
  18. Go to the sidebar and by hovering over every tool, find the rectangle tool.
  19. Then click and hold the rectangle tool, untill you get a drop down.
  20. In the drop down select the eclipse tool.
  21. Hold shift and click to make a circle.
  22. Once youve made your circle adjust the size to 288px by 288px.
  23. Then put the circle at the top of your first rectangle.
  24. Repeat the above steps to create another circle.
  25. Change the fill of this new circle to white, and change its size to 55px by 55px.
  26. Then use selection tool to place white circle in the first circle, the placement should be slightly off center to the left.
  27. Hit 'Ctrl' and 'c' then hit 'Ctrl' and 'v' while the white circle is selected.
  28. Move the copied white circle so that it is a mirror of the original white circle.
  29. Click file > export > export as.
  30. Give the file a meaningfull name, and export it as a png or jpg.
